Even when they specifically say they will give me a call whether I got the job or not, they still don’t call

I’ve had a few job interviews where at the end the interviewer literally gives a spiel about how they know how annoying it is to not get a call back, so they will still call even if I don’t get the job. And then I never hear from them again. One of them even told me they would call me at 5pm that day to let me know. They never did.
