Finding greener pasture

Hello all, I have come to the conclusion that my job is rather crap, I’m over worked, don’t make a reasonable wage, not helped to grow or fostering my skills. This compounded with my current high cost of living area has made me realize I need to get out of here, plus the increase of taxes squishing everything harder. I figure I have about 1 to two years before it hits critical mass. Can anyone suggest a good place to start looking location wise, good cost of living, and good quality of life? I like the outdoors, and making things (wood working and black smithing, and crochet) if that helps with a suggestion. Ideally I would like to be able to grow some of my own food and maybe some chickens or small tiny farm, so I know the big cities aren’t for me. Any suggestions, either on this or…
