Been with this company for 3 and a half years. I feel like my production has been better in the past 6 months than it ever was before. If I was going to get fired/formally scrutinized for performance, I would have thought it would be 2 years ago or so, not now. I’ve worked harder recently than $24 an hour on the west coast justifies I feel.
The general consensus about these PIPs seems to be to get the hell out ASAP and start looking elsewhere for work even if they don’t fire you right off the bat. I hate the job search process though. The cover letter nonsense especially drains my sanity.
I do have one former coworker who said he would put in a good word for me at his company but if that doesn’t work out then I’m probably in for a miserable time.
Not necessarily looking for advice, just venting, that being said if people do have advice to give I’d appreciate it.
