Had to turn in my 2 weeks to get offered what I’m worth

Got a dick raise during the review cycle so I went and got another job and turned in my two weeks. Employer responded by offering to match my new salary. There’s not anything revolutionary about this post just venting a frustration. Why can’t we just be adults and do what it takes to keep employees happy?
