I use to work at a videostore (early 2000s) moved away and came back around 2009 and got a job again. When I came in there were pictures of a person on the front door who was wearing what looked like a uniform and asked “Do you know this person?”, so naturally I asked what's that about?
Turns out a guy applied and they were like thats awesome and you're in uniform so would you be fine with doing a trial run and we can get you started ASAP. I guess the manager was like sweet free labour.
So he's doing his thing putting rentals back out, when up front they have a convience section that sells cigarettes. The lady working in the convience part needed to use the washroom and asked him to cover for a minute, and before she got back he had cleaned out the til and took several cartons of cigarettes.
They never got any info, ID or anything on the guy. His resume was fake.
What they thought would be some easy free labour turned out to cost them so much more.
It was impressive.
