In the 2008 recession. Workers with only a high school education (or less) lost 5.6 million jobs. They recovered only 80,000 of those jobs.
Meanwhile as a result of the recession those with a bachelors degree gained 8.5 million jobs.
This sounds like a good arrangement for those with BAs, however, those who graduated with a BA around 2008 and since then, are now doing jobs that they are overqualified for, and not able to repay for their expensive degree.
There are about 30% of jobs in the market available to those without a college degree.
