I wanna start a company with an office, pay my dudes and dudettes a fair wage, slip em a bill or two when the going gets tough, have pizza and shit all the time, crank dubstep and wear shorts when it's after office hours in my empty ass office and hustle the team on the weekends so we can all go out for a pint.
Why can't I do that? Is the economy seriously that rigged? I don't expect miracles but man I seriously don't get how I cannot literally just be like “Ok you work for you, the rest keeps the lights on, the fridge stocked and the internet paid”
Like, I want to be able to have an office where people can actually literally do nothing for their lunch break, actually sit down in the lunch room and have real food, maybe play a card game, catch up on Netflix, like guaranteed “zero work for lunch”
Am I insane for thinking that a good boss works to ensure his employees success and that it takes a follower to make his team leaders?
Like fuck I'm tired of sitting on my hands around here I want to make sure people are clothed and fed and have a place to sit down and make a real difference in their own right.
I'd actively encourage a union, make their case fairly as to where the company should go on their terms, while I do the heavy lifting with new prospects and put trust and dignity forthright and understand that these are humans that need love and care as well.
I want to be the boss that rolls in with an average car, average house, average life, and put the rest into Making sure the people who are willing to put their best foot forward and the company as a whole does well.
No stupid supervisors, no stupid HR shenanigans, no stupid WFH surveillance. If you need something, go to the boss, you feel like shit today, let me know, if you literally just don't feel like it today, do it on a day off or pawn it on someone else.
Is that so wrong of a want?
