How to not over perform?

So I started a new job three months ago and I'm working the overnight shift 4 days a week, and I'm finding myself in a sort of a situation. I'm not an over performer per se, and I'm apathetic and laid back by nature, but when I get into work mode then I'm working and that's all I'm doing. I fixate on how to finish everything as right and as fast as I can and by the time I'm done there will be no more work left, so a clean slate for the shift following me, and I'd still have like 2 hours to fuck around till my shift is done.

To simplify, say each one of us finishes an average of 30 tasks a day, yesterday I finished over 50 in about 4.5 hours of work interrupted by multiple bathroom and smoke breaks, and still managed to finish with 2 hours to spare.

I just get so bored and I try to nap or read a book or just lay about but I get bored of that too.

I don't want to raise the performance par and cause the rest of my team trouble but I also don't know how to work slowly.

Without really realizing it I'm burning through tasks until there are now more left.

Any tips on I guess how to work less??
