I work as an assistant teacher for pre toddler kids. I’ve been there for 4 months and it’s gotten worse this month with 7 teachers that have quit including one in my room. Dealing with 9 kids with an assistant teacher that throws me under the bus for stuff that I don’t do wrong, a director that gossips about co workers during my lunch break, asking so much work from the staff for 14 dollars an hour, another teacher I worked with being so nasty to work with and my owner invalidating my feelings about my stress by saying you’ve done this for months you got this, you’re just doing a routine it shouldn’t be that stressful. The joke my owner made today about having to be in our room a lot when I wanted to scream we are understaffed it’s two teachers with 9 toddlers that have climbed on tables and underneath, hit, bite etc so unfortunately with just the two of us it’s chaotic. As much as a few co workers are sad that I’m leaving I feel so much better not having this toxic work environment anymore and I have a fresh start now.
