I “followed up” on a job for the first time. *crickets*

I interviewed for a role that on paper seemed aligned with my goals and experience. The interview went fine, I thought (I'm not always good at being able to tell, and thought I bombed plenty of interviews that I eventually got an offer for). I feel like reaching out and following up was a waste of time, and just feel more annoyed about the lack of contact. After an interview, the least you can do is give me a no.
