I have been feeling sick for a few days and unfortunately used up my sick time. I went to the doctor in order to get some medication as my condition was worsening and my body is over it. I got a note from the doctor that said I should stay home to let the medication work, that is 3 days off. My manager tells me I cannot use a doctors note as an excuse out of work. The only time that is allowed is if I have used up all of my sick, and vacation time, then i can go ahead and use the doctors note as an excuse to not have my days counted against me. Why go to the doctor? Why pay the copay, get checked, get the note notifying that you are incapable of working… and I have to use vacation days? I’ve had these vacation days in for months! Now I lose them over something I cannot control?
I’ve contacted HR. I live in Nevada and never heard of this at any other job. I’m so sad.
