This is a bit of a crossover with r/fuckcars and r/epilepsy I guess.
I live in Texas. Born and raised here, lived here my whole life.
I'm also epileptic and cannot drive and likely will never be able to drive; I've had epilepsy for 17 years now. You can imagine how that affects my job prospects.
I have a B.A. and am also almost done with my Paralegal degree. However my job prospects are limited to a 10 mile radius, or remote. Depending on the pay rate and frequency of in-person I can do hybrid. Anything more and I won't be able to afford the uber. I don't have enough confidence to bike for long distances; I never learned as a child, so I'm wobbly when I bike and more likely to accidentally bike into traffic.
I've been unemployed for months. My epilepsy was unmedicated at my previous job and I was let go because of it because I kept having partial-simple seizures, aka auras (yes I could easily sue them for discriminatory actions but it's Texas and not worth it at 13$ an hour). My roommate did 150 applications on Indeed for me and I still haven't gotten anything.
I'm so tired. I just want to earn income without becoming a Diamond Uber user (at a previous hybrid job I would spend upwards of 300$ for the week of in-person) all over again.
Fuck Texas, fuck epilepsy, fuck cars. And before you ask, yes I've tried for disability but I am, literally, not disabled enough to qualify. And yes I've tried temp agencies.
