I just landed a job at a pizza chain as an assistant manager. I got hired on the spot and started my training videos but that’s about as far as “training” went. Last night we were busy and me and another newbie (not a manager just customer service rep) were collecting the screens falling out of the oven so that it wouldn’t overflow. Other manager starts yelling at us because we’re ‘’not doing it right and we’re not helping them” which I brought up the point that if I was getting trained when it gets slow instead of being sent home. It really rubbed me the wrong way because it seems like the old managers are trying to bully me. I’m posting here because my next thought is to call the district manager directly tell her I’m not getting enough hours, and I’m uncomfortable in this working environment and request a store switch or if I should reach out to our general manager directly. I don’t think she’s aware that I’m being sent home early everyday but she has been there one one occasion where I was sent home.
For context I don’t think there is any reason why I’m getting sent home. I come in and do what in asked (to the best of my ability) I’m friendly with customers, I take initiative to do what needs to be done and I think they feel threatened because I’m the only manager other than the general manager who seems to care. But either way i don’t want to work somewhere where I feel surrounded by people who dont like me.
