Just got terminated today (vent)

I’m just here to vent. I work remotely, for three years. I was a supervisor with two reports. I was here a few years (or months) ago about my boss’s micromanaging. The constant need to be on the phone, the daily emails about new “rules” that we have to acknowledge and promise to comply are the ones I don’t like the most. I tried, believe me… to go with her flow and call on schedule and follow her rules. But alas, my efforts were not enough. When I saw the schedule for our daily call moved from 5pm to noon, I already had a gut feeling. When I called her on the phone, she did not answer. Then the teams call came in. I knew it was coming. When I answered and saw the lady from HR is there, it was the confirmation I needed. Manager had to go through her spiel, I can hear her talk, but I was absorbing nothing. My emotions were just blank. I’m done. My family still does not know, and I’m now in panic mode. I started looking for work everywhere.

On the other hand, there was some kind of calm. Knowing that her tyranny over my professional life is over. Knowing that I will never have to see her name pop up on my phone 12 times a day for her daily checkins is over.

I hope and think that this feeling of dread is temporary. I will get back up and move forward.
