I think we need a little bit of education about both Labor Day and May Day in here for my US friends.
May Day is the true international workers day and honors the international workers movement.
Labor Day is a scam made by the US government to force workers to not engage with May Day and instead to have a more isolated holiday in September. It's fucked up and removes us from supporting and receiving support from our international working brethren (while not even giving laborers a day off)
The holiday we 'celebrate' in the US on May Day? Loyalty Day.
Celebrate May Day. Fuck Labor Day.
It is a holiday designed to keep you desperate and isolated.
