As the title says.
I asked for more money. No. I ask for some semblance of work-life balance, and ironically things get worse. I try and bring up a valid point to a narcissistic plant manager that’s totally unfamiliar with our actual operation and he takes it upon himself to make my job more difficult; “spend less time in your office programming and more time on the floor”, where I can’t complete the vast majority of my work.
I’m not sure what the intention was there, but I’m the one person in this entire plant that has any background in industrial controls and automation, and today I mentioned to my direct supervisor that I’m unhappy after he asked me how I feel here, and they’re scrambling.
It’s honestly funny, to watch them panic. No offer is going to get me to stay at this point, the time for that has passed. It may be petty of me but watching this power hungry plant manager squirm has gotten to be really, really entertaining.
Maybe, just maybe if they’d listened to my concerns when I first brought them up rather than dismissing them entirely, we wouldn’t be here. Good luck finding someone else to do this work for even double the money I’m paid. ️
