Recently I submitted my time off request at the beginning of October for my vacation in December (dec 24 – jan 1). I’m planning to visit family during my vacation so this is why I have put in the request in advance. I work in retail and since I am a student I only work part time and only 2-3 shifts a week (4/5 hours each shift). I heard from one of my co workers that the manager said they would deny my request or not approve it. The manager wants me to work Boxing Day which is the most crucial but I don’t understand why they are not able to accommodate to my request as I have placed it in advance and there are other people available to work. What should I do?
