I work for a small thrift store that is ran by a rescue. Bosses complain about our lack of money that we bring in but when my coworkers and I mention any kind of ideas that would benefit us, it is ignored or turned down. Now normally with any other job, I wouldn’t care. But I really like this one as far as it’s laid back and involves animals and benefiting them etc. The owners and most everyone else work at the HQ building 10 miles away. So no management breathing down our necks which is nice. At the same time, they are absent and do not see what goes on here etc. I’m just wondering if I’m wasting my time here? I shouldn’t give a crap so much about benefiting a place that always reminds me of how much my hours are costing them and make me feel like an issue but the complete lack of care but then bitching about not making money is frustrating when we have some beneficial ideas to keep this place going and a happy place to work. I’m just not sure if there’s anything else I could do to change their minds or fix this place. Or if I should cut my losses and dip. Any help is appreciated and again I hope this is the right place to ask. I’ve been screwed by so many places and this is literally the longest I’ve worked anywhere in like 3 years. I’d like to stay but also don’t want to screw myself over if it shuts down from lack of care. TIA !
