I work for a startup in a management position. I came to the startup for growth, opportunity, and equity. I’ve been told multiple times now that I don’t have the skills needed to do my job and we’ve hired people above me in every angle so there’s no room for advancement. Confirmed by my manager that I should take another position that they’re trying to fill below what I do today. I’ve been looking for other opportunities, but nothing has come to fruition. I recently found out through the job board that I’m getting a new manager one level above me and when confronted on it my current manager told me to look at the posting to see what skills are different. I hate the idea of complaining and feel like I stood up for myself multiple times asking for more opportunity. At what point do you just call it…
Hi all, I looked online at the Simple IRA Vanguard account that was set up by my previous employer, the total amount I have in the account looks extremely low and there are months that are not showing contributions…8 or 9 months are missing from 2021 & 2022 combined (not showing as being contributed to on specific months.) I brought this to his attention last year the first time I noticed something looked wrong. The forms were filed late by him and/or his accountant and there were no contributions shown for the first half of 2021. Then some contributions began showing beginning in June 2021. I contacted his accountant again today, and sent him a PDF of the tax form Simple 5305 with both of our signatures and the contribution information. My previous employer is a multi-millionaire that tries to find every way possible not to spend money unless it…
Making a minor ruckus
I’ve worked for the same company for 5 years. 3.5 of those as an apprentice. As a result my pay was quite low but very good in comparison to the wages of some other apprentices I went to school with. I’m about to finish my apprenticeship as a welder and it will come time to renegotiate my salary. This is the first place I’ve had the chance to do such a thing. They give about a $1 per hr raise per year generally but the rest is up to you. Notoriously they say we’re not allowed to discuss our wages. Big red flag. Also big ‘we’re a family!!!!’ rhetoric (but of course it’s a one way street ). There is no transparency when it comes to peoples salaries/ hourly rates, I know a few in my department but most people are too scared to discuss. This puts me in a…
it’s time to do something.
I'm tired of not doing anything. It's time for a workers revolt. It's time to do something, organize, and take down the oligarchs. I feel like Ana Kasparin on TYT. The clip where she screams they don't care about us. They don't. And it's time to take them down. Don't know for sure what to do yet. But I'm going to start in my town first. Organize. I love in MTGs district. Gonna start by organizing something against her for one of her opponents. I am tired of sitting back and hoping for change. It's time to make it happen for all of us. We all need to step up and start local. I don't care if we have to eat one of them like is always said. Spices make everything taste good.
Looking for opinions on a situation..
So I’m a retail pharmacist. I worked for a company I loved for 8 years and some shit happened where I got completely fucked in a shit situation and got the ole termination after 2 weeks of fucking deliberation… anyway, I couldn’t find another opportunity in the location we lived. as the main bread earner between my wife and I, we decided to reach out further and I ended up finding (what I thought) was a great opportunity about 3 hours away. We move. My wife is a nurse so she would have no issue finding a job in our new location as we looked in that area for her before pulling trigger on new job opportunity. We agree to make the move and it was to a location we really love (the beach). So I walk in on day one at new company and I see within 5 minutes…
Come in with Covid or lose my position?
My first day at Amazon (ugh) is supposed to be tomorrow. My spouse was just diagnosed with covid and I'm pretty sure I have it now too. So I contacted Amazon just to find out if I could postpone my 1st day to later this month. The support told me that I can't change my 1st day and basically that my choices are lose my position and see if I can pick up a different one or go in and probably infect everyone. Whoo.
I work as a personal training sales person at a one of the biggest gym chains in the world. I got promoted to assistant manager last month. Did 70 percent of the sales last month to keep the club in bonus and keep all three of the team members. Due to my manager’s fault I am not gonna get my personal bonus for last month now he is saying it was my fault. I need money for my debts and to buy a new car. Now he is still pressuring me to hit targets this month while I am behind my numbers because of him. I give this job 95 percent of the day. I can’t do any other jobs because of the scattered schedule. I know it’s nothing compared to what most of the people go through on here but today I felt like crying and I miss my…
California requires if you give a 72 hour notice you should get your final check with pto and vacation time on your final day. What happens if your final day was on a Sunday? I’m just trying to figure out from which days they’ll owe me a waiting penalty. I gave a 5 day notice and my last day was Sunday. Idk if weekends count as part of that.
