I(22M) started here straight after university and is a 9-5 in a role I don't plan on having a future in. I just joined because I needed money and have around 17k in savings rn. 10k of which I got by doing no work. So basically, for the past couple months i have not really been doing my role, but everything else seems to be running smoothly. But they are going to find out sometime next week due to current circumstances that I am more than 5 months behind on work. I have literally been so bored with the work that i just come in for attendance in a sense… On my phone for a long time and doing the work so slow because it is so boring. I get 2k monthly salary (2k x 5months =£10,000). I planned on leaving the role in july or end of june but…
“if I train them, they might leave”
I often listen to conversations about businesses struggling to find experienced employees to which I naturally reply to them why don't you train them? Today I got a reply that surprised me a little. “Because I might train them and then they might leave” I don't get it? Rejection fear syndrome? Or waste of company resources? But it's not like they are hiring any time soon. Someone, some business will have to train someone. That's how it is.
I applied for a job at a water filtration plant, to get an idea of what market is paying for this field. I'm currently studying to get my licence. I'll hit my three year mark this October. I went in for the interview and i thought it went well. I told them i didn't have my licence yet but i will be working on taking the exam and passing it. They continued on with the 1.5 hour long interview asking me all the stupid “tell me about a time” questions, telling me about the benefit plan, so on and so forth. After everything was all said and done, they shook my hand and told me i would hear some “good news” from them soon. A month later, i hear nothing from them, but i did get wind from someone who works there that they had “no intention of hiring me…
Any u idiots that work there in here?
American workers fight among ourselves to be the one to lower expectations and limit public work conflict. All that American bravado and self indulgence disintegrates into subservient pro imperialism the minute universal healthcare or raising the minimum wage gets discussed. It’s suicide
American city design is horrible.
I fucked up my back several months ago and have a physical job that involves a lot of lifting and carrying. The back pain keeps getting worse despite doing PT twice a week and taking it as easy as I can at work and at home. I started working here in May of last year but when the new year started I wasn't given my PTO because I hadn't been here a full year so I have to earn it at a snails pace. I've already used up all the PTO I've earned this year and taken a few unpaid days for Dr appointments and days where I couldn't handle the pain, and my boss is getting on me about it and saying I could lose my full time status if I don't work enough hours for the year, and my insurance is provided by my job so I need…
100-year-old man breaks Guinness World Record for working at the same company for 84 yearshttps://t.co/P35nWj0zM5— BreezyScroll (@BreezyScroll) May 3, 2022
Hi guys, i am kind of bored at my current job and it is becoming quite annoying and repetitive … I have an interesting opportunity at a company where i worked before. After putting all pros and cons on paper i still cannot decide. I would have a better salary and get off work 2 hours earlier, but on the other hand the hq is in the middle of nowhere with no malls/restaurants/gyms etc. nearby and i would have to learn french which i don't like
