Help please, legal action?
I found out that the last three days I have been inhaling silica dust. My boss did not inform me about this and thus didn’t tell me to wear any protection. (I’m a younger guy and I just do this for a paycheck, so I had no clue about the silica stuff. I also have been working here less than a year, and the training hasn’t been the best.) I found out today because I started working on some stuff that was newer and there were finally warning labels on it. I took the labels home with me and I took pictures of the ventilation system that they don’t use. Today I wore a mask, but still had exposure before I found a mask myself. I guess I’m just curious if there can be any legal action taken against them because I had no clue; and they’ve been in this…
Hii just found out about this group so I thought I'd share my situation and hopefully hear some feedback. First of all I've been working for a social cooperative for 4 years as a tree climber. When I started they made a big deal about me being seriously committed as training me would be a huge investment for them. It was actually a good environment and kind of fun. Last October in Italy covid regulations forced people to get vaxxed and get a green pass to work. I don't want to get into this argument but since I don't find it a right thing I refused and, while I still kept my job on paper, I was forced to stay home without getting paid. Since May I should be able to work again, I got called it to talk about it and I basically got yelled at and insulted for…
Why isn’t there a maximum wage?
Trucking is a bitch of an industry with a lot of bad employers and I got lucky I chose about 12 of the worst. Just wandering if I am the only one that just doesn't give a fuck about changing jobs like its underwear
I work at a bank and today I was pulled to work at a different branch than my normal one. I come in and the manager goes “so have you been updated?” Um no? Tells me her husband and son (who she lives with and takes care of) have covid, tested positive last week. She has not gotten tested since her family tested and has been to work everyday since. HR is not telling her she has to test or stay home. If I was told all of this before coming in I would not have agreed to this. I just feel like all of this is so shady and I’m 100% not comfortable with this but I’m stuck here for another 6 hours. I don’t understand what is wrong with companies that don’t give a single fuck about the employees that make the company successful. Thanks for letting me…
Perfect job ruined…
I started working at Walmart back in September 2021 at $18/hour. I got an unpaid hour lunch and 2 paid 15 minute breaks for pretty much every shift. Compared to my previous job at McDonalds, this was heaven. And it was! ..for the most part. When I arrived there, my department (produce) didn't have a manager/team lead. Nobody in charge of us, except for the general foods manager thatd stop in every once in awhile. We were severely short staffed. Usually just me and one or two other guys working until a few months go by and we bring on a few more. We were doing fine, almost everything was getting done and I actually enjoyed the job for the most part. Plenty of breaks, the pay was good for my area ($18/ hour is the highest wage here) and no manager. This all changes at the start of the…
