Obligatory Throwaway. This actually happened the day before yesterday. I (F20) worked at a popular corporate restaurant that’s famous for burgers. Think Big Mac. I’ve worked here 3 years & still, only make $12/hr. Yesterday afternoon, one of our new employees accidentally rang in a sandwich incorrectly. This was a specific order (a bun with pickles & mayonnaise) As the sandwich came up, she caught it mid mistake & told the cooks, went back to fix it, etc. They pushed the sandwich off to the side & everyone continued on about their day. About an hour later, I still see the sandwich sitting in the “window”. I asked my coworkers if it was dead. They told me yes, so I asked my MOD if I could have it instead of throwing it away, he said he didn’t care so, I put it in a togo bag & put it to…
HR's email explicitly said only INDIANS were allowed to leave. Is this discrimination?
Notice how many normies have wasted time on the Chris Rock vs Will Smith confrontation. Multi-millionaires slapping each other, why should I care? There's no way i can relate to them Also notice how many people are still licking the boots of either Biden or Trump: they cannot and will not relate to the common folk like you or me, ever, so why waste time, effort and money on voting? Neither parties are gonna make a change because their entire career is based on following the barking of the multibillionaire corps and also extremely rich bankers. They do what these corps and bankers tell them to do, they don't serve the common folk lol They dont give af about you or your family Last but not least, look how many normies give a fuck about the Depp vs Heard debacle… Who cares? Both of them are so extremely rich and…
The thought of working for the next 40 years makes me want to die. But then I look at the state of the world and wonder – where the hell are we gonna be in 40 years from now?
It has been a long process, because I grew up feeling the pain of other people. I saw someone being bullied by the teacher in grade school, and started getting tears myself. So when I entered the workforce I instantly had stockholm symdrome, because every place I have ever worked at had issues with retention of quality employees to some degree and I recognize the real emotions management feels towards losing people they trained. Not to mention I wasn't treated with respect by my first few employers, but they gave me a chance so in a way I felt like I owed them. One place in particular was really toxic resulting in a mass exodus from the company but deep down I wanted to stay until things stabilized, but people kept leaving, until I mentally broke and left. Fast forward and I recognize my old beliefs as stockholm syndrome. I…
Calling Off Excuses
What are some of the best excuses for calling off of work? My usual is “Family Emergency” but my grandpa can only die so many times. 🤷️
The old Bait and Switch
This story takes place early July of this year, I just landed a bartending job at a fine dining Italian restaurant. My first day of training, I'm dressed in a nice black shirt and black dress pants. The manager takes me over to the deli side of the restaurant. He tells me “sometimes” I'll have to work the deli, so I should learn how to use the meat slicer, and hands me a hair net. I had left my purse behind the bar, so I went to retrieve it. I asked the bartender on duty if they were actually in need of bartenders. Nope! But the deli was short handed. Yeah…..folks I bailed. F companies that do this. Worked out in the end. Found a great bartending gig a few weeks later.
