Corporations don’t listen
Corporations are clueless. Long article about how corporations are losing huge amounts of employees even though they are offering more money. They had to hire a think tank research company to ask why. That's laughable on the face. But then the kicker is it turns out employees don't think the corporation listens to them. The solution? An anonymous feedback form online. Here is the real headline. Employees quit because corporations are shocked and cannot completely comprehend and fail to realize that employees are in fact “People” that cannot be streamlined, automated, or “Data Driven” Little word of advice I learned a long time ago managing people. If you want to hire and retain a good employee. The first step is to be a good employer. Maybe start small acknowledge humanity. Oh.. And 36% is a fail KPI Metric Fail
Have never been on shift where it was more than just me or some random coworker. Two people to run a store is not enough. You have to do substantially more on your own to keep up in the store than you would in a different fast food chain where they are “appropriately” staffed. Subway doesn’t care about the restaurant, they only care about selling the property their franchise is sitting on.

In the last month at my organization, there has been blatant discrimination against queer/transgender/non-binary volunteers who want to become a mentor for children. Most recently, at our bi-monthly meeting, my supervisor said “ok, so we have this volunteer…they are genderqueer and non-binary. And their other qualifications are XYZ…do we have a child who would actually be a good match with them?” My co-worker spoke up and said something along the lines of “Actually, yes! I just interviewed a parent and child who said they have no sexual orientation preference as to whether their mentor is transgender, bisexual, queer, etc. They also are fine with all of the other preferences you mentioned.” My supervisor then said “hmmm. Ok. Well, we are just not ready to work with this type of situation. We just don't have the tools. Right now we want to focus on matching males with males, and females with…
People think this is a Happy Story.
I once worked at a recruiting company, we'll call them Bobby One-Third. Here's how they treated their recruiters: The pay structure was highly skewed towards commission from meeting certain goals (as many sales positions are). If they didn't meet those goals one month, the deficit would roll over to the next month and the next month, etc, and they wouldn't get commission until they met the goals for all months. The goals would increase every month, and every year, and would very obviously not keep up with the amount of open positions and candidates available. So most recruiters would end up in “the hole” and never make commission. I noticed that most recruiters were young, between 23-26 mostly, and turnover was crazy high. Then I realized that this is a feature, not a bug. Bobby One-Third wants a revolving door of young workers that they can exploit. They promise excellent…
