A few years ago I left a company that was very toxic. I was making less than someone fresh out of college, pressured to work overtime every week, and never given a promotion or raise I deserved. I got a new job with much higher pay that honestly treats their workers a lot better. My old company found out I how much I make at my new job and actually said I was being overpaid which I think just shows how little they think their employees are worth compared to industry standard. Ever since starting this new job I’ve had a complete change in attitude about work. I just work my 8 hours and leave. I don’t do overtime. I don’t get emotionally invested in the work or people. I feel sad for people who brag about working overtime since they’re still stuck in the mentality of work being their…
I'm unemployed and have been unemployed for over a year now. My father is a freelance lawyer, and my mum has been a housewife for 35 years. My older brother (Gen Y) is a QA consultant. Pretty much for the past four years, my parents (and my brother) have been trying to persuade me that the only way to get a job is to continually do 'overtime' – in their heads, it's to stay after you clock out and 'hone your skills' and 'get answers to whatever questions you may have so you could hone your skills.' They're convinced this is the way because my brother did precisely this and got a promotion fairly quickly, from a clerk to that QA consultant position. They think that slave labor is the only way upper management is going to notice you. And now they're attempting to rile me up. Nope. I don't…

Is it wrong to celebrate your last day.?
Change my mind. Cause all I see is a bunch of people who complain, yet all I remember is how my grandfathers slaved away for an entire family and yet millenials here don't want a family, don't want property, don't want to upkeep their lives, don't want to do dishes, wipe their own asses, etc, yet still want to somehow get paid without doing any work. Funny thing is, even if I quit my job I could still make a decent living farming and/or working with my own hands through carpentry, welding, and other self taught skills, yet the majority of people here couldn't learn how to do something from youtube even if they tried because they are distracted by 30 second dopamine injections. I am confused, so how do you expect to survive? If you don't expect to survive, understandable, have a nice time removing yourself from the gene…
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you got $5 from everyone on here for doing no work? Wouldn’t that be the perfect example of anti work? Doing no work at all. Think about how amazing it would be to make over $1 million dollars and do nothing. Just be supported by others who only have to pay $5. We could even do it monthly and make 12 millionaires every year. I’m aware that all the members in here wouldn’t do it but want to be optimistic.
Anyone tried it and succeeded?
