Look. I get antiwork is anti doing anything or whatever. Lol, you're an interesting bunch. So far it is a lot of things I've seen. But in order to get to the point of working less or ” no work ” if that's even possible, we have to at least do something in order to achieve Get outside tomorrow, the next day, the day after, or all together on April 30th. I love working
I love writing books – it's a lot of work. Writing, formatting, creating covers, filling a thousand forms so you can self-publish… Between 2019 and 2021, I've published 5 books in Portuguese, and then translated two of them to English. I do it for free. I put them on Amazon, because it's the only way a lot of people can discover it, but I also have a website with them for free. Even on Amazon, whenever they let me, I offer them for free. I also love recording songs – so much work! I've recorded 20 albums so far, I guess. I also do it for free, just for my enjoyment. Nobody likes it, but when they do, they can listen to it, or download it for free. Why not? It's already done and it's free to copy. I'm not losing my copy. I love creating or editing videos for…
I have been working at a company for about 9 months. Around the 90 day mark you are supposed to get a review but mine did not happen till about 6-7 months of working. Once i got this review i was given a substantial raise upon completing certain tasks proficiently. So after sometime i was able to show proficiency and then ask my supervisor about the raise and was told it would be moved forward to be approved by the owner. After a couple weeks I ask again and as it wasn’t on the past two pay stubs. I was told the supervisor forgot and he would do it again. So on the third time I asked the owner was there at the same time so my supervisor talked to him. After this conversation I was given a small promotion and other things that go with this but did not…
Coworkers are Corporate Symps
I work at a salaried position in the devil trade, Commercial Real Estate. I’m not planning on staying for more than another year, I have my exit strategy. My coworkers, I feel sad for them. They eat, breathe, and their pulse is tied to their work. 7pm, they are online, and getting emails at 5am is by no means uncommon. I sign on at 8am and sign off at 4pm (remote worker) and I’m judged for it. I’m tired of the sassy remarks and hand waving because I’m not “putting in the effort”. I wonder what people do when they work for so long. I’m easily able to get my work done, and everyone else drones on and on about how much they still have to do. Do they really have that much or are they just terrible at time management? I leave on time because I cherish my time…
The truth will set you free
Wage slavery in the United States exists because the unequal value of the USD. The USD is a fiat, debt based currency, also known as a Ponzi Scheme. The persons that get the most value in a Ponzi scheme are those that get in first, and get out first. In general, this is the US military industrial complex and other government sponsored companies. A fiat currency has value, but it’s based on time/use and not inherent. Imagine if the US printed $1,000,000 and gave it to every person. The next day, every car dealership goes out of stock, every house for sale is bought, and every grocery stores shelf is empty. End the fed to end wage slavery.
Today I paid $50 for a beer and burger at a shitty beer garden. Most people I know in DC barely get by with almost no savings yet we always tip 20% even if the service or food is horrible because feeling bad for the waiting staff. When my check arrived I asked him if tip included bc on the menu it says fare wage fee of 15% included, this dude without no shame try to lecture me on how to tip extra 20 bc base tip of 15% barely covers the $15 minimum wage in DC, that’s all good and fine but it’s not okay to use this to shame people I bet that waiter makes more than I do yet pulls up his tablet device (toast I think) and suggestion for extra tips are 20–22-25 % , and he suggests 20% would be standard, and on the bench…
Is this a normal management practice?
(Background) I work at a small grocery store chain that's owned by a mid-sized food distributor in the US, (which essentially makes it impossible to unionize or organize ourselves in any way, because even if we fully unionized every single store they would simply shut down the entire chain). I'm a pretty young person and haven't worked that many years, and have only worked at this job for about 3 or 4 months. I get paid $10/hr like all the other employees, and my duties mostly include cashiering, but also includes things like bringing in shopping carts, cleaning the store, “facing” (making stuff look pretty for customers), and stocking. I usually close the store with a CSM (regular employee who gets paid the same but also more responsibility), and work from early afternoon until 8 or 9 PM. All in all, aside from the pay which is low even for…
