For privacy reasons I'm calling B a friend and going to be vague. Not my story and don't want to possibly cause waves for B. B is older and has been with his company for 30+ years. He has been essentially on call for a year now and does whatever they tell him they need keeping him out at ridiculous hours and essentially putting his life on hold. B and his two other coworkers were up for a sizable promotion and all of them have years of experience at their current company and 2 of them are well educated in things that would would be a fantastic asset for the company. All 3 work on presentations and B doesn't stop doing whatever is asked of him. He knows he isn't likely to get the promotion but figures one of the other two will since they have experience as well as…
I believe they are intentionally tanking the markets in order to swing the mid terms. They fear the recent spike in unionization. They have enough money to tank them and make money, then make money on the recovery, all while your pittance of a 401k loses value it won’t get back.
Flipping the map blue (strategic moving)
Even though both parties have a problem with allowing us to live, only one has activists and pays lip service to human rights. I’m proposing a movement to make things change. We the worker generation have a few things in common. -We are so broke we might not be able to stay in one spot. -we are forced to accept lesser living conditions, like forced to get roommates. -we are the first to get a hold of remote work for some of us. Here’s my proposal. Let’s move to different states and flip them blue. The difference for victories is low enough that if a small percentage of hard blue areas leave… those places would be in our pocket. Let’s leverage our tolerance for shit, and attack these low population flyover states. We can rent houses and vote, vote, vote. I like a lot if us, have a remote job.…
Hurt my back and is being forced to work
I’m a registered nurse. I hurt my back 40 minutes before work tonight. I’m currently feeling 8/10 pain all over my back. It’s Mother’s Day and the weekend so I didn’t think I could call off. Turned out there were multiple call offs and so I’m working as a BHT (behavioral health technician) tonight on a psych ward instead of a nurse. As soon as I walked on the unit, I was given a suicidal LOS patient and 13 patients to watch for 12 hours, including one that has physically assaulted multiple staff members and patients. My nurse for tonight informed me we are having multiple admits tonight. I told my supervisor and she replied, “well I hope you feel better”. Fck that sht. I feel like walking off the unit. I feel like a beast of burden. I was sexually assaulted by a patient a couple of weeks ago…
I’m a safety ambassador for the downtown (not gonna say which) part of the job is dealing with street residents and asking them relocate or offer resources. (Job pays 17) Now they’re going to add this new position called Quality of Life, which will be working more 1 on 1 with street residents and trying to make a profile for them to know what they need. I was offered the position and I gladly accepted because it’s something I want to do but the job will be paying between 17.50 and 18. I was told I was going to be doing the job on my own and they still haven’t told me about training so… There was a written response guide that was given to managers and residents of the downtown and this is what it says. DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE QUALITY OF LIFE RESPONSE GUIDE (Business Owners, Property Owners/Managers and Residents)…
So a few weeks ago I took a part time gig at a company I used to work at. They hired me on as supervisor of the crew I used to work with. The crew was one of the main reasons I came back. Management had high expectations of me turning things around on day 1, my style was more working with everyone and retraining them individually into better habits and routines. Well last week, the entire crew put in their 2 weeks. Not because of me, but because of shitty upper management one day came in on my day off for the first time in 2+ years to basically tell them what a shitty job they were doing. I’ve lost all motivation to be there at this point. I know with their reputation in the area and their inability to be competitive to surrounding employers, I won’t have a…
