Boss says that they're giving it to a coworker who gets out midday because she has nothing to do and that I just have too many projects. I CHOSE those projects and handled them flawlessly in order to build a reputation and to demonstrate I am ready for leadership positions. WHAT A JOKE Maybe the joke is on me.
Guys I’ve had a long day, sorry if this has been said multiple times before/or grammatical errors. Just wanted to have a discussion on how bad workplace sexual harassment is. I know that rape culture and sexual harassment is a huge society issue but maybe a lot of people don’t want to work too because of how bad harassment (specifically sexual harassment) is. Uhh I’ve quit probably 2-3 jobs because of how uncomfortable I’ve felt with coworkers/male managers. A few other examples my neighbor’s cousin was r*ped and murdered by a coworker she had had issues with (she rejected him he couldn’t handle it), and my male friend has been sexually harassed. Nobody is safe I guess. Everybody stay safe and gtfo of jobs where coworkers or bosses over step their boundaries.
Work is actually hell
“Man, Thank God it's Friday. Thank God 5 of the 7 days of my life are fucking over because I hate 5/7ths of my life.” I think this may be one of the most depressing quotes I've ever heard. I've found that, for me, work is much worse than “a necessary nuisance” for society to function. A “necessary nuisance” does not drive people to commit suicide. A “necessary nuisance” does not drive people to get drunk when they get home because they hate their life. A “necessary nuisance” does not cause people to cry and self harm themselves in the bathroom. Is it really “a wonderful world” if your average Joe is having to take pills to be happy? Seriously all of the corporate world is bullshit. All of it. Why do bosses want you to cradle their balls? Are they not making plenty of money? Why do they have…

Netflix laid off 150 employees
I literally cancelled my subscription just now when I read that. The $20 a month is a little outrageous, but I could have handled that. The fact they raised their price, & then laid off employees is ridiculous. I know a lot of people are canceling their subscriptions because of the price hike, & that it what Netflix is citing as the reason why they laid off these employees.
Title. I'm in Ireland, and I asked my US manager for a raise to match parity with the market value of my role. He then showed me the salaries our US team members are receiving, and the value I asked to be bumped up to was even lower than the low of that range. He then said to prove Ireland isn't a cheap labour country, because when he worked in Microsoft (previous company) he hired from Ireland simply because we were cheap labour. Fuck this.
i recently got a job at this company that was struggling with employees, the company itself doesn't have a massive turnover, but, they were in need of staff, and i applied to work for them, initially when i applied, they offered me $28/hr, cool, you'll work with staffing and then the company will hire you (so no benefits,OK lets give it a try). they call me 3 weeks before hiring telling me that the position has been capped at $25, wth??? i was locked on $28,well staffing can only go at $25 max, once you get hired by the company, well raise the salary….this one rubbed me the wrong way and was very annoyed and only took it because seems to be the only company that actually called me and shows an interest of hiring me,reluctantly i took it cause bills and rent,i'm not a massive spender and save a lot of money so its aight for…
