Hearing all of these tv commercials saying “download this app to use for your perfect side hustle” is getting super disheartening. A lot of them target you selling your own personal stuff for them to take their percentage anyway. That's not a side hustle. That's an online garage sale. And also, I shouldn't have to have a side hustle to survive. Oh and also I shouldn't have to dig in my closet and sell a t-shirt to buy lunch.
literally my bull shit company.
7 years of not having a job!
Hey everyone, just wanted to share how I turned 24 recently and the last job I had was when I was 17, so I've been free from work for about 7 years It's a really liberating feeling, I get to enjoy my favorite hobbies and work toward my future by doing what I love to do without having to wake up and spend most of my time at a job
First, let me say, I love my boyfriend to death, which is why this issue is so bothersome to me. I (25F) have an awesome job. It's fully remote, great benefits, all my coworkers are super supportive, and the workload is super easy, light and enjoyable. After getting my work done and even asking for more, there are still so many times I can go out and do whatever with the rest of my day for hours on end — take a walk, nap, do my hobbies, anything. In contrast to my boyfriend's job. He's a contractor, and while he generally likes the work, working with his hands, and he makes more than me, the work is long, hard and tiresome. He has to work countless more hours than I do, with less of a safety net with benefits and whatnot since he's an independent contractor. It started when I…
I live in the US and work for a small company. My pay is shit but I do get 25% commission on the profit of all of my sales. Today I received an email that every existing RMA that hasn't been returned will be docked out of our future commission. So we run credit checks on every customer and if they have good credit we can set them up with Net 30 terms. This way we don't get hit with the credit card fee's and the customer has more time to pay. Every now and they a customer will buy an item that doesn't work for their application, so they request an RMA. Our company has already paid the manufacturer, and our company is out thousands of dollars until their RMA get's processed. I'm now being told that any unpaid items from the customer will come out of my future…
It’s my last week and since notice I’ve had to put down everything I know about systems and vendors I’ll call them.. like if they need to hire someone they can just read up on what to do. I’ve purposely left out information. The point hiring someone experience is they know crap! It took me years to know it all and also eating humble pie to find out this information. Not my fault you made me do all the work and not decide to learn or pay me for It that doing less work for about the same pay was able to snatch me up. Can’t wait for my week is up so I can be on the receiving end of being trained. An employee should not be training higher ups.
Telling my manager about an interview??
So apparently, it’s policy at my place of employment that when I interview for another position internally, they automatically notify my current manager I’m interviewing. Not only that, but I ALSO have to inform them. Why?! It’s bad enough there is an automatic notification, why do I also have to tell them?
I've been with the company for over 2 years. No official write ups but twice in the last month they have called me into the office for small things and told me that I'm replaceable. I can wait to get fired if it means I can get unemployment but if I won't get it, I'd rather maintain control and quit. I haven't been looking for other work but I guess I need to.
