My shifts have currently been announced to be 6 10 hour shifts a week, which I posted before. My supervisor kept me until the 11.5 hr mark tonight when I got so tired and stupid that my brain and body were done and I had to leave, because I was unintentionally breaking stuff. I'm in my 40's, I don't have endless energy anymore. The worst part is, my supervisor doesn't want to have to do this either, and he's the best boss I've ever had. I've had dozens, possibly over a hundred supervisors in my jobs throughout the years. And this guy is my second favorite, behind the guy that bought me breakfast at a sit down restaurant every day.

Open your eyes, look around, look at actual policy. The GOP is actively repealing Women's Rights. That is the first step. The GOP is going to go after Gay Marriage next. The GOP is actively trying to disfranchise people of color. ​ I assume, every post when someone says “There is no difference” Its just a GOP bot trying to sow fake news.

I have been working a position as a supervisor for the past year. I have been there as the only constant on our logistics side of the store. Through my boss getting injured and ne having to to take up his duties for 2 months to my fellow supervisors quitting and leaving me as the only team leader. It has been this way since I started and I am constantly told that they don't know where the store would be without me. My boss was fired for not meeting deadlines and I applied for his job. I was told by the store manager that I was “too important to the store to be moved into a position that I may not be able to handle and they could lose me”. I was incredibly upset but accepted that there may be a much more qualified outside hire for the job. Fast…

I know employers are legally required to pay overtime at a rate no lower than time and a half, but management where I work (and I'm sure this is done elsewhere) expects employees to take longer lunch breaks and/or come in later to eliminate any OT. My question: Is that legally allowed? I understand employers can change the schedule as they see fit (usually), but this seems like some sort of unfair practice used to scam people out of OT. I personally don't mind taking a slightly longer break when I only go slightly OT, but the other day I had to come in a little over an hour early for some meeting and I was still expected to cut time. Thoughts?

I actually just made a post the other day, but I work as a designer on a very small marketing team. The only and other senior designer just put in her two weeks, with no back up plan. This just goes to show how much this company exploits their workers and demands them to do high-quality work in a short period of time. I’m really at a loss for words because I am a junior designer doing lots of tasks that are not entry level. I’ve also been dealing with a lot of health issues the past couple months, and I know they’re going to try and promote me. To be honest I was on my way out and she beat me to the punch.
