I lied about a degree
I lied about having a bachelors degree in my latest rendition of my resume. I'm in my late 30s. Had my first interview from it. Never even questioned my schooling. Got the job offer at 90k/yr. Up from my current salary of 50k/yr.
Obligatory this didn't happen today. Strap in, long one. TL:DR at the end. I've been working 12 hour night shifts with no weekends at this company and it sucked. The morning shift never showed up on time which meant we had to stay on until the next shift arrived, we had no shift manager to fix this since the previous one was sacked because he was doing some shady stuff during work hours. Also, morning shift manager was a dip shit and didn't care. General Manager wouldn't accept to meet with us to discuss issues. Despite being a top performer I was always rewarded with -let's all say it together at the count of three- One. Two. More work! Exactly, more work and more responsibilities, nowhere near enough money in raises, so yeah, I decided enough was enough and started looking for a new job. At the same time one…

There are a lot of posts about people just quitting their jobs and storming off. Well it's not something everyone can do. Most people can't risk not being able to find another job to pay next month's rent. It sounds great and all but isn't an option for most people. It's a luxury. Stop telling people to “just quit”.
