For years I've always thought to myself, what if everyone on earth “got an education” and pursued a high paying career. Retail, food service, customer service, labor jobs, ect. Would have no choice but to raise their wages or become completely automated.
Hey everyone So I tested positive for Covid on Wednesday night and I phoned my employer on Thursday to let them know I won't be in work. I told them on the phone yesterday that I had tested positive for Covid only the night before, that I am showing symptoms and that I feel terrible. Everything was fine and all good until this morning when I get two texts from my work asking me to call them. I phoned them and they explained I need to phone the sick line everyday until I come back. I expressed to them that doesn't really seem fair as I need as much rest as possible right now and I shouldn't have to act like I'm still getting up for work. They replied back that it's policy. Needless to say the call didn't go past that. So im writing on here to get people's…
When you vote shares for a corporation
I have stocks in several companies — no major shareholding, just trying my hand at this money game. One of the things I tell my friends is to carefully read what the board of directors asks you to agree to — THEN ALWAYS VOTE AGAINST THE CEO COMPENSATION PACKAGE. This makes sense — CEOs get raises from the board of directors, based on the SHAREHOLDERS will. If the workers of companies that give stock options ever did this across the board, I wonder if the CEO would not get the raise? It's a small exercise of power…DO IT!
Forced Shift Change
I just found out that my company suddenly expects us to fight for shifts and days off. We have all of a weekend to bid on shifts and hope we keep the ones we have. I have multiple appointments connected to a Disability all set around my current days off. I have sent HR an official request to keep my current schedule as a Disability Accommodation. What steps should I take after they no doubt turn that down?
Edit: I thought this subbreddit didn't allowed text but now that i see it appear on my screen i want to tell you guys my experience working at a retail store in family dollars. Btw while typing this, ive called it quits for the job that i left in for a work home stay. Better option then to deal with these bitter people again. It has only been a month of me working at this near by retail store that close to my house. Since day one of working there, my assistant mangers were never nice to me. Hell even with the drama my mom start up at my job they always carried a very rude negative judgment eye towards me for no reason. Mind you, i don't really talk to them or ask them for anything yet for some reason they paint me as a burden to be around…

Been working at remote job for two year now. This my first real money job where I can save and invest. Was able move out. I don’t have issue with my rate, but when doing the math I notice I was hired at higher pay rate then I’m being paid now. Differences minus by minimum wage is -.20cent/hr. Technically I was making more my first 6 month. Then I am at the moment. I wrote up things say my manager about my rate need go up. Also compare my rate to the average rate of my position and argument on how our company been massively improving. I like the job I work remote handle easy projects and most often slack and work on my investment. Anyways back to the point. Once I mention the difference she quick said well you making enough, you gotten a raise earlier the year. Ignoring…
