This is going to be really unpopular. I live close to my office. So commute is nothing for me. Ever since the work from home started, I've been stressing myself out. Eight hour work gets stretched to 10 or 11 since it's all based on output and I am a perfectionist. Sometimes, I'm working on weekends just because I have the setup at home and pending work bothers me. It is more flexible but for 1 hour that I use for something, I end up working more as I am bad at timekeeping. I was much more relaxed in the office and it was easier to just pretend to be busy to avoid any work coming my way. Also, it was easier to log overtime in for extra hours when you just look at the clock and do it. Also, you can just get up and leave when everyone is…
schedule is changing
It's needs to be stated that I am effectively a contractor who is treated like an employee when it comes to duties. It's both complex and simple but most importantly it's exploitative. Anyways, today they ask me to work through my days off. For the last few years that meant my regular pay. I replied that I would work for the legal overtime rate and a bonus on sales made. Their reply was that they are considering changing the schedule. I've seen them do this before, it's there way of reminding me that they choose what they pay. It's their way of manipulating me to give up my free time to work for illegal wages, again.
living in a matrix would be so great the leaders could let us live how ever we want, the robots can do all the world. the metaverse will be great place to live since life is so hard and traumatic. we would live in a communist utopia.
What are your views on art projects? Dont get me wrong, the world of art can indeed be a shitty place to work(look at the many overworked cgi artists), but considering many projects like movies require more than one person to make, how would that go in a world without work? Would artists have to ask for help? Would they hire people for some extra money?
Been working for free last green weeks to help set up the restaurant before we start again. Had many days where it was just me in the kitchen as the rest painted, finally started back and the boss told me he needed me in the day before to prep the food even though that would of been free and I wanted some days off before starting. He also said I wasn’t communicating which is his job not mine. And I may be wrong but I heard him possibly saying pissing around upstairs for half a month he could of been speaking about someone else but the options really are limited and I’m just not sure how to go forward I’m just working quietly now
But I don’t wanna.
won’t say where (contract reasons and might work there soo) but it’s an outdoor camp for children. i’m a minor. firstly, i filled out in my resume which age groups i wouldn’t mind working with. i’m 15 so of course they wouldn’t let me work with 12 year olds. we had 3 training days required. was NEVER told beforehand what age group i would work with other than i got the job. other than staff introductions i honestly didn’t learn anything. like, i don’t even remember what they discussed. it’s a huge camp and we never got a tour. basically found out first day after getting lost and driven to our group area that i would be working with 4-5 year olds that at the most have been in pre-k. it was HARD ASS work. first week felt like quitting but based on my experiences when i was younger going…
