I’m a registered nurse. I’ve got some really great marketable skills that could put me into any ICU and I’ll hit the ground running. Iykyk. I turned down an ecmo specialist job and a level one trauma ICU, that base pay started at 40 and 38.75$, not to include shift differentials, specially pay etc.. for a clinic job that pays 32.75$/hr. I chose my sanity, I chose freedom, I chose me. Hospitals have lost sight of just how valuable nurses are. 90% of nurses are predicted to be out of the workforce within the year.. I’m one of those statistics.
A bit of a vent here on good old corporate environments. Today we got another boss making the team have 3 managers for 4 staff. We also had our first group meeting with the new manager which consisted of only me and another person presenting (1 person is in another time zone and the other on vaca) to the now three managers which turned into each manager trying to “out flex” each other with their comments and trying to micromanage the two of us. The whole thing was a joke turning to the meeting into a three sided conversations for 50 mins of the hour meeting. It baffles me how inept people can be in corporate leadership roles, I use leadership loosely here. How do people when they get a bit of power they lose their complete sense of reality and not see the bigger picture or what is occuring.…
I work at a bank. Bank employees who happen to be notaries (which is a service that one obtains from their local county and is separate from the bank I work) perform notary services at the bank, for the bank. We are not allowed to get paid for it from customers, nor does my bank compensate us for notary services (even though if I perform a private notary while not at work I can make money doing it), but all of the laws that come with performing a notary still have to be followed. So, I had a customer come in one day and ask me to notarize an authorization form to send his underage female child overseas to a foreign country for an extended period of time as part of a program. The problem was, the mother of the child was not present (a requirement as she had to…
Because Wells Fargo has been mismanaged for the last two years, forced all employees to return to the office, cut major hub locations, ceased outside hiring, and flat out lied about giving managers the market midpoint raise they deserved, employees have decided to unionize in order to gain better working conditions. All while Wells Fargo profited 17 billion in the 1st quarter 2022.
I did it yall
I'm officially quitting Amazon. Fuck that place. Last few months, I've been applying to everything and everywhere hoping for something to stick. Had some interviews, that went no where, and had waaaaay too many rejection emails; however I didn't stop applying and hoping!! I finally had 1 job stick, did 3 interviews, and even got offered a position that is much higher then what I initially applied for! Best of all it's a remote position, and much higher pay then what I currently make at Amazon. I am extremely happy, and it's cause of you my fellow anti workers that I even had the guts to just go for it and make a change. Thank you. Now say it with me! FUCK AMAZON!
So I work in tech and have been remote since the very beginning of the world wide thing. I was only in the office for about 3 months before we went remote. I’m not a bad employee but I also didn’t go above and beyond with my work. I did was needed to be done and only took on extra tasks if I was asked to. I like working from home, especially since I can get an extra hour of sleep every morning and I can cook all my meals at home. I have time to workout and dabble in my hobbies. My productivity is great as is everyone else’s in the company. Anyways today my boss sent out a mass email saying we are returning to the office full time starting next week. I know most people are unhappy about this but management doesn’t care. So I responded to…
I am leaving my company to try out a new one. One that is paying me considerably more, traveling considerably less and having more kore diversely. Only hangup is they are starting me out at 25 hours versus the 40-45 I usually work. I did the math, I’ll be getting paid about exactly the same amount. My parents are furious that I am working less but making more. They think I am being lazy and immature. My father just said “some of us work jobs we hate for pay that sucks to give you the life we do, maybe you should follow our example.” That is so ridiculous. Keep working a shitty job for shitty pay because its the right thing to do? No thanks.
