I work for a drug testing facility and boy let me tell you we have our standards set extremely high when it comes to our code and regulations but that doesn’t equate when it comes to pay. I get 15.50 an hour to deal with DOT regulations which doesn’t seem right. We have government regulations but don’t seem to get paid government pay. I’ve spoken with my boss about this and he kind of brushed it off so I think this might be time to leave.
Target is getting salty
i look at the future and it seems incredibly depressing and lonely. working, working, working just for some paper and indulging in hobbies occasionally and that's it is it? I live at home still and the thought of moving out in some shithole house or apartment alone makes me want to put a bullet in my head. The happiest i ever was in my entire life was living out of a backpack in south east Asia riding my scooter around and chilling with people in hostels, no where to be, no pressure or expectations literal just chilling. It felt so good and primal just hanging out with people in that way. I got back home and its been a downward spiral ever since and that was 2 years ago lol.
How else to make money?
Besides working… how do we make money?
So I just got fired today…and I can't rant to anyone about this. I'm a quality system professional for a pharmaceutical company. I generally get paid about ~$40/hr in a permanent position but due to labor shortage contract jobs pay about ~$80-90/hr. I was contracted by this billion-dollar company for 2 years to fix their system. (Should be from 2021-2022 with a possible extension) I've been with them for at least a year and the current director who I report to is satisfied with my work. Due to multiple issues in different departments, my director placed me under a new manager a month ago. I already felt something was off two weeks prior about this new manager as she was nitpicking every project I've completed and I just shrugged it off. I'm not sure if she was jealous… Since I work for an agency, the new manager had to sign…
I’m about to change jobs, and I’m pretty sure I’ve got this one. If I do get this job offer next week, then I will need to tell them at some point that I’ve already planned a cruise and flight, and will need 9 days out of work come August. This is probably the one and only opportunity I will ever have to go on a vacation like this. I also have a dental appointment in a matter of weeks for a crown to be put on. I will be working during the dentist’s working hours, so I will have to go during my working hours. How do I tell them all this without jeopardizing my job from the beginning? And at what point in the hiring process do I say anything? I’ve been trying to get out of my current shitty job for 6 months now, so I’ve got…
