Hey everyone, we should replace the word philanthropy. In my opinion, philanthropy means. The rich only pay minimum wage. Pay the minimum tax rate. Plus they steal from the tax coffers and they give a minimal donation of what they stole to aid organizations. To calm their conscience what they are doing so badly. Sorry for my english is not my First L.

I’m in the market for a new job at a company that pays their employees a fair and livable wage, respects women, appreciates a variety of perspectives. Anyone know of any respectable companies anymore? I’m not sure I do…

I work with kids and my organization is a non profit. That means we're severely understaffed. Im new and im sick of management. They legit told me to expect the kids to be straight up abusive and that somedays “you just wanna punch them”. I feel sick being around these adults that say this shit. They fuckin corrected me when i described a behavior from a child as volitile(said “did you mean defiant?” And i wanted to say, no because im not trying to force my will upon these kids), or reprimanded me on my tone of voice, yet they straight up talk about violence against these kids. Ended the conversation with my boss saying “we want our staff to feel safe but this might not be the job for you” Im sick of these adults. Yeah this might not be the job for me so im gonna do fuck…

I will say that I work my ass off, and never have a day that I don't have to think about orders/inventory/menus…but the idea of previously working “full time”for that amount of money sickens me. I now physically work 45-50 hours or so at my job (not including the work I do outside of the kitchen). I seriously doubt many in the US still work for minimum wage, but it's an awful thought. We should collectively be ashamed

Gonna keep it short here. ​ Left my job at the end of 2021, and have been really enjoying time off. However, savings are beginning to dwindle and it's getting time to return. My issue is, the thought of getting another job feels so pointless for some reason. Has anyone else felt like this after a work break, and if so what did you do to help you break through the funk and just suck it up? I also realize how petulant this sounds but meh whatever.

They keep the conversations illusive and un-challenging. It’s often like pulling teeth to find cohesive information on what’s happening and why.

A co worker at our other facility died Monday. I found out from my boss. Smaller company with less than 200 employees total. Everyone is just working like business as usual. People didn't even know when I asked about it. Fuck work

I've had 2 coworkers get fired over the last couple weeks. One for scratching lottery tickets on the job and one for ringing themselves up items (at some point I have done both of these). Not necessarily anything bad. I just noticed on the store app that my option for my employee discount is gone. They're probably gonna get rid of me too for some reason, could be related to the $5 tip I took a week ago. They have fired people in the past for accepting tips. Should I quit immediately to save face? I know that they're going to wait until the end of my shift to fire me if they do. I want to have the last laugh.

Surely it can't be healthy to be zapped awake from deep sleep from alarms every single day? Sleep is so precious for our health yet we need to force our bodies out of sleep everyday just to work. I always think this might be having more negative effects than we think. Possibly contributing to alzheimers? Neurological disorders? etc. Some people also naturally just need lots of sleep. And it's sort of impossible to do so unless you fall asleep shortly after you get home – but then you are only giving yourself like 2 hrs a day to yourself awake. Man, work is mad annoying and the health effects are concerning.
