Purely Hypothetical Legal Question
Okay here’s some very surface level background: So I work for a bank. Over the past few weeks I got an insultingly low raise, was told to learn and pick up others’ job responsibilities if I wanted more(which I have done), had my promised transfer to the area I’m supposed to move to yanked away, and was laughed out of the room when I negotiated for a more fair salary. I won’t go on at length about my grievances, just know I’m disgruntled. I’m looking for other jobs, but for now I’m basically held hostage here until my wages improve and I can move (which was an original agreement when I accepted the job). Ungrateful about salary raise
only 2.88 percent salary raise announced today after taking on middle managerial duties in addition to my own job duties. No raise in 2020. I hated working already. Being underpaid just adds insult to injury.
I finally graduated college last summer with an associates in account after going part time for 4 years while working full time retail for 5 years. I spent a few months putting in applications and going to the occasional interview when they could be bothered to get back to me. I eventually landed a new job at a large bank as a banker. It wasn’t much more than what I was making but they offered a better bonus structure and I was looking for a change of pace. When I interviewed, they mentioned that I would also be trained on the teller line and that I would spend time there while getting trained for my main role. Worst going is that during this time they let 20% of the workforce go so we are now all doing 125% of the work for 90% of the pay in real terms. This is fucking ridiculous!
He only sleeps like 4-5 hours a day, works 7 days a week pretty much and only has maybe 3 hours off of work during the weekends, he works hard for me and my family I know and I know the expenses for me are high due to me being autistic but still
Once in a while, we all come across a call for boycotting a company that fouled their employee. Why not also make it a trend to support and help with our wallet as far as financially possible, those businesses, big and small, who treat their employees extremely well?
