I need some advice on this job offer
Hi, I live in a latino country looking to work remotely for someone in the US, and hoping to get paid in USD cause you know, wages in Latin America are a joke In the last few days I got a job offer for a real estate company over there to work as an OSA/ISA, I was very excited cause it finally seemed that I would start getting good money to eventually escape my country, today I was in a meeting with the realtor talking about the contract, the schedule, and whatnot The wage is… 384 USD monthly working from 9:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m, with a 2 hour break at 12:00 p.m, every day, weekends off, and there's going to be a 90-day trial, split into three 30-days parts, where there are goals for each part, and they would be checking on me (with guidance and help) to see…
I worked but didn’t get paid?
I worked at a big corporation. Long story short they were trying to deny people the use of the bathroom, unless they were on break. I didn't like how they were running things, so I put in my notice. I looked at my last pay-check, it shows I did not get paid for my last 2 days. I thought maybe that was a simple mistake and it would come on the next pay period. It did not. That day, I emailed HR and the store director that I did not get paid for time worked. I got no response. Because of not getting paid I was not able to pay for my oil, I ran out in the middle of a big snow storm. I had to ask for help from others to be able to pay. This put a lot of strain and distress on us. Advice?
As teachers, we're so used to giving away our knowledge for free. About 10 years ago, I wrote some lesson content for an online educational company, trying to supplement my income with a side gig. My contract paid $50/lesson. I soon realized that it took me the better part of a Saturday or Sunday to write each lesson to the company's standards, do all the wiki formatting, include an assessment for each lesson, and input any required edits. So, I only wrote about 7 or 8 lessons for them before deciding it wasn't a good use of my time. Recently, I visited the site to grab some published writing samples of my work to use for another job application. I was shocked to see that some of the lessons I wrote have been monetized hundreds of thousands of times! Now I'm even saltier that they only paid me $50/lesson! It…

MLK and Corporate Leadership
I am reviewing our 800+ training catalogue at work so we can organize it and hide old trainings. Training #425: Building Your Influence as a Leader uses MLK Jr's I Have a Dream Speech as a lead-in to 60 minutes on corporate leadership. It feels so gross. I can't believe people have had to sit through thelat bullshit. In the defense of my work, we contract out our trainings and I doubt my boss will leave it up after she sees my recommendation to take it down, but Jesus. Nothing is sacred in the business world. God forbid we have some ethics.
Hi guys My former employer won’t notify my retirement (fidelity) that I’m gone. They keep telling they’ll have it done by the end of the week but it’s been a month now. Fidelity isn’t much help either because when I call they just start lecturing me about keeping my funds in there. What are my options? I’m to the point where I’m just going to send nasty emails and harass them but I’m really not wanting to do that. They have a habit of doing this to old employees. Any advice would be helpful.
