I work in healthcare, and took a job in January doing a similar but more critical line of work for 20k/yr more than what I was doing as staff in a hospital. It took a grand total of 2 weeks for the educator (the person responsible for training new people) to show her true self: bullying, gaslighting, and toxic. I thought I was doing well during my orientation, none of my preceptors (people who show you the ropes) had told me anything bad to my face. Suddenly, I get a call from the educator on a Thursday. She says I'm “falling behind, getting concepts but failing to implement them, you put him in [a mode that silences alarms which all the veterans of the company do] and put the patient in danger, you don't tend to the alarms, and we're going to have to reassess your status from full time…
Hiring Managers: Tell me about XYZ I explain it briefly, since we only have so much time in an interview Hiring Manager has a blank look on his face. Responds in a manner that shows he doesn't even understand what I just said. And… my motivation is walking out the door.
Gossiping Co-Workers
Hey friends, I’m new to the subreddit, so bare with me. So, basically I work in a private medical practice. There’s 8 girls (myself included) in my department. I am the youngest. The others are 28+ years old with families and stuff. So we don’t relate. I’ve tried to talk and be kind and initiate conversations, but recently I’m noticing that there’s some talk going on behind my back. At least from my understanding. A coworker and I got into a little tiff recently (because I wouldn’t do her job) and she told me yesterday, “this is what we’re gossiping about. I’m just telling you the truth.” That said, I’m sensing a lot of hypocrisy due to that if I don’t do portions of their jobs (cause they’re too busy talking) then its worth chatting about. But it’s okay if they don’t pick up anything of my work if I’m…
Person 1: I'm e-mailing these people to update them on the information we need from them in a cryptic paragraph. They may or may not have e-mailed someone else on the team. Person 2: I'm working on these projects and organizing these files but there are still unknowns. Maybe Person 1 has more information. Person 3: I'm assuming you know what these customers need and what we should be doing to get this project done. This seems kind of chaotic. Person 4: I'm going to be blamed for most of this, aren't I
I work 12hr days, 5 days a week. That adds up to roughly 60hrs a week. I dont mind too much, it sucks, but overtime is great and I'm trying to pay shit off fast. My boss is asking me to come in sunday for a 12hr shift. That means Ill work 72hrs this week, then have a day off, then work another 60hrs. Fuck that. She's saying theres a $50 incentive for coming in, but $50 doesn't give me back my day off. She even asked what im doing sunday, and I replied “absolutely nothing “. Im gonna sleep in, hang out with my family, and relax in my hammock listening to some good tunes!

45k a year is less than 35k after taxes in NYC… one of the most expensive cities in America to live in. Needless to say, it’s been months and no one is interested.
