I've been working as a machine operator for a small (no union/HR) manufacturing company for almost 4 ½ years and my total tenure for this company is around 6 ½ years. Today, I asked my production line partner to give a note I wrote explaining politely what problem I'm having with the machine to either the foreman or the owner. I usually NEVER do this but did this time because I wanted to avoid getting falsely accused of something verbally and didn't want my presence to aggravate them. My partner comes back and tells me the owner wasn't happy with the note. 5-10 minutes pass and the owner comes storming to the back of the warehouse and starts yelling, “DO WE WORK FOR YOU!? twice. I look at him confused and say, “huh?”. He then proceeds to call me a fcking ignorant ashole, tells me to use my words and…
I quit my job January 24. Full time employee for 2 years and acquired 104 hours of PTO. In the weeks leading up to the 24th I put in my two weeks and worked my scheduled shift while using 72 hours of PTO to cover and prep some days for the new job. Flash forward to today and I'm missing 32 hours of pay. They have not sent any check in the mail and calling HR has resulted in nothing. 2 calls leaving a detailed message and they've yet to get back to me regarding my 32 hours of earned PTO. It doesn't seem right and they are seemingly avoiding me. I contacted my old manager and she refused to help me fix the issue saying I should just contact HR because she's too busy. She's too busy running a retail store that has no traffic in the winter months??…
how many bad days can one person have?
I tell myself over and over again that it's just another bad day. It's starting to get to a point with this 9-5 society with an extra 4-5 hours of work every day. How many times can I say suck it up its just work or get over it. Just food for thought my friends.
Bullshit I'm not on call and deserve my day off in peace. I work with people that don't want to do anything and always has an excuse. I don't want to run around like a chicken with his head cut off. They want me open to close cause we are short staffed and I said I'm not a morning person. I'm not looking to do 50 hours at 12.00 and do all the work.
