Doctor’s note for one unpaid sick day?

I have a chronic health condition that my boss is aware of. I was paid late and therefore unable to refill my medication on time, and although I managed to work for a few days without it, yesterday it finally caught up to me and I couldn't breathe. I called in sick and explained the situation. Despite being transparent about my health in the past, my boss never once mentioned a doctor's note for absences. However, yesterday evening she sent me a text saying to “remember to provide a medical note explaining my absence.” I know doctor's notes are often needed for multiple consecutive sick days, but I only called in for the day. Obviously I don't have a doctor's note and the only option I have is to send her a photo of the medication I take and the bill of the prescription I filled yesterday, but that feels…

I really want to quit my job that provides nothing more than a hostile environment. How do I go about it?

So I’m in a position where I need to leave my current job because of the hostile environment, I don’t want to get too into it but for context, my job is a mom a pop business that they treat like a write off, the owner is always on vacation and his narcissist son tends to power trip his authority, I’ve been with the company for 5 years and it can run itself with just the employees, but his addition to the team has truly turned a great team into a low moral low performing team. There’s a lot of favoritism and gossip. I can’t take it anymore, I had a panic attack due to the stress of work and had to be taken to the hospital, it has truly taken its tow on my body, and I want to leave a letter behind stating that I’m leaving due to…

“We determined the offered salary based on your given range” I didn’t give a range

That’s it. That’s the post. Pay me what I’m worth and don’t try to act like I came up with the number you gave me. My answer to their salary requirement question was “I would require compensation that reflects the fair market value of my experience and skills. I welcome a further discussion about salary range and benefits.” They were not willing to negotiate at all.

Question on pay docking.

Not sure if this is the correct reddit pages to ask work related questions like this but internet research only brings me so far when I'm just not that sure on terminology. So I work for a company in Virginia that drives to various locations and does service related things to those locations. We do not require signatures during specific days, however a single day we are required to get store signatures, It has now been brought to our attentions, if you do not turn in a signature sheet at the start of the week you won't be paid for that days work. No sheet I guess shows we didn't work? Ok I guess that's legal since there's no way to show proof of the day worked? We were then told that sheets also needed every box filled with a signature or you would also not be paid for the…

What’s the deal with at-will employment?

I’ve been reading about at-will employment following a discussion, as I’ve never come across the concept before (and my instincts told me it’s a pro-business grift). From what I can tell, not only do almost all U.S. states recognise this practice unless it’s agreed otherwise (source), it’s actually presumed (source&firstPage=true#:~:text=At%2DWill%20Employment-,Related%20Content,%2C%20unlawful%20discrimination%20or%20retaliation)). I can totally understand why business adores it. What’s not to like about being able to fire somebody ‘without cause’ (e.g., asking for a raise, attending a funeral, or asking for PTO)? The counter argument seems to be that that works both ways, but unless you’re in a privileged position to be deliberately unemployed or have a job lined up, it feels like mental gymnastics to see that as an acceptable tradeoff. In any event, if one does have a job lined up then notice periods are relatively short. (There’s obviously a benefit there if somebody is in any kind…
