-In March I sent my boss/the co-owner of the company an email asking for a little more money. It was like a 5 paragraph email, which ended with me saying I understood if he couldn't do it, but if not then I would start looking for a new job. Did he think about it? I'm starting to loathe my work place and I'm trying to find another job before I can finally quit this hellhole. Management is all cliqued up, supervisors side with shitty employees that have been reported multiple times, and other staff are dropping like flies because the “compensation” (if you can even call it that) is absolute shit. I got this job on a total whim when I quit my last job after only 3 days. My family was pissed so to get them off my ass I started working at my current place part time within a week of quitting. I handed in an application, no resume, and no extra shit. Had one phone interview and within a day I was hired and starting. Maybe something was finally going to work out. So last week my company has introduced this new shitty way to clock in and out of work. You have to switch on your computer, log into that webpage and click on “clock in”. The problem is. This adds some stress into my life as: I sometimes like resting for a bit longer during lunch ~20 mins (I like sitting in a park nearby) so later I have to spend those more minutes in the office. Those 5 minutes that take me to switch on the computer. Log into the web and click. That is almost 30 minutes more every day that I have to spend in the office. And last week I only clocked in 38 hours. My superior knows that I get my work done, so he won't be ratting me out. But some higher ups probably will question me in the future. Since I got laid off in mid-April, I busted my ass doing interview after interview all month. I got stood up by 3 different companies two weeks ago and just got a rejection email from one of them. Good to know my time isn’t respected, I guess. But nobody wants to work, right?

So my job used to reimburse us for cell phone bill once our receipt or invoice was submitted. They don’t do that anymore. Now , if you want, they will add an employees number to their corporate account and then send them a new SIM card if they’re still using the same phone. So employee pays no cell phone bill. So anyone who works in cellular networks, does using a company SIM card pretty much mean they can invade my privacy as far as the juicy stuff ? Messages, app info , photos etc?

For starters – to explain a bit of my “drive”. I don't have much in the ways of family or friends, so work is often my social time. I care about those I work with and seeing these people 40 hours a week, I learn a lot about them and take genuine interest in the comings and goings. This has led me to work insanely hard to ensure a smooth work environment and keep drama out of it. The job I'll be talking about was just a simple line cook at a Cracker Barrel. Everyone on the sub here is so against their boss. Mocking decisions and rules. How about this, if you want to make these decisions for yourself start your own company. I guarantee youll end up with the same rules you used to mock. They control the asset of the work itsself. You control only the labor itsself. Until you make the leap to control both.
