“Forget balance, Find joy!”
I feel so slimy for writing it out. This is the tag line of an upcoming leadership seminar my organization is offering to women in the workplace. I'm the marketing person and have to advertise this. How can I heal my conscience?
At my company we clock in and out using a website called HRX. At the end of the pay period we approve our time punches. Over the course of the two week pay period I accumulated 0.5 hours of overtime. Of course I approved my time punches because I sat there and worked the whole time. However once I approve them my boss also needs to approve them. Without asking, she changed my hours so that I don’t get any of that 0.5 hours of overtime pay. Are there any legal implications around this? Do I have any basis to fight this or just need to live with it for now?
It doesn't matter if you never reach your goals. If you are well fed, housed and have some kind of community, what else is there to life? It doesn't matter if your company isn't that successful. It doesn't fucking matter if you never have 1 million dollars. It doesn't matter if we conquer the world or not. We're all gonna fucking die anyways, so why be so fucking arsed about making an 'impact' when in reality we can all just lead peaceful, abundant lives where we care for each other. It doesn't matter if you don't sell a million units of whatever stupid product your shoving down everyones throats. It doens't fucking matter if you never get that audacious Lambo just to rev it really loud like a bitch in the streets. Nobody actually supports these narcissistic visions and tendencies. We all just want peace and food and love in…

Long story short, my work is having a pickup sports day for employees. Sounds like fun? It is. I WAS excited for it…. One of the managers even came up to me asking if I was in, I said yes, and they asked if I had equipment or if I'd need to rent some. I told them I'd need some (since I didn't want to bring some stuff I do have with me on the bus to work) and they said I'll be taken care of (since we have connections). Sounds like a nice gesture, until the day comes up and of course, there's no plans for me, nothing available, all week I've been trying to talk to them about the day and they're always too busy or stressed to talk. And to top it off, my coworkers got to KEEP the stuff they rented AND their friends who don't…
management duties without pay.
The back story..I work as a mechanic/service tech for a utility vehicle rental company. I maintain a fleet of 800+/- vehicles. Since day one I have had issues and difficulties getting replacement parts due to internal management issues, this obviously slows down productivity, But it's been an ongoing issue and is my primary limiting factor in doing my job but… I just deal with it. I found out that at the end of the month, in order to “take things off my plate” they are moving another tech to the rental dept to help me out and are hiring a yard/lot guy to organize the yard and do other small things so I don't have to so I can focus on repairing and maintaining the fleet. Now in not mad about having the extra hands on deck but i just got informed about an hour ago that it's now my…
