It's just another reason why we can't seem to see good change anytime soon.

I'm not going to work today. Does anyone care to suggest a creative yet plausible excuse I can use?

Throwaway account because reasons. Normally we would've had our wage discussions much sooner but our new holding company can't seem to understand that at our type of job it is impossible to have these in December. Anyways, when I had the discussion with my boss she just straight up told me “we can't talk about your raise right now, as (holding company) still hasn't made the budget for the new year. I know it sucks, because I also don't know what I'll get so I understand if you're disappointed. Could you tell me a vague range you had in mind?”. Okay lol. I told her no, I will not tell her a range, because I'd like HR to give me my raise in equivalent to my performance and in consideration with the current inflation. She understood, she told me that she also didn't give a range, so no worries. Fast…

People are understandably pissed but to no one's surprise upper management is corrupt and won't do anything about it yet had the audacity to ask during holiday weekend for people to work overtime, never ceases to amaze just how backwards corporations can be

I came into work today and everyone got a $1000 end of year bonus. I've never had any company give me anything they didn't have to. It was just nice after Christmas.

My employer had direct deposited our checks into our accounts today. Later the manager calls everyone and let's us know that we weren't suppose to get paid until the 1st. After a few hours we then receive an email stating that we won't be paid until the 4th. How is that ok.

My employer just told us to “plan ahead”, and “it’s going to be a stay late; all hands on deck situation” for NYE tomorrow. The shift I work is already a 10 hour shift. Can they legally fire me for coming in and ONLY working my scheduled 10 hour shift?
