Idk if this is ok but its a little vent anout what just happened. I work for a fast food place, we had no incoming customers for 2 hours and yet upper management refused to let me and my staff go home. Everyone is upset as they wanna see their families. What coursebof action is right here? I’m honestly at a bit of a loss

This is an amazing piece of federal law that allows you cal call off whenever you want. You have to have worked for your employer for one year. You can call off whenever. They can’t ask a single question. Your doctor will help you with the paperwork. This is federally binding with employers and will put them in serious trouble if you are punished for call ins related to your “issue” I had “migraines” One day a manager at the hospital told me I would be mandated overtime. I told her mandations give me migraines and I’ll be using fmla. I left on time 🙂

My lover and I are immigrants from abroad. We both have family far away. Because my sweetheart lives five hours away from my place, we have to make extra effort to see each other. They’ve worked crazy hours and rarely get two days off scheduled together. They were able to get Christmas days scheduled off after negotiating with their boss and working many other holidays. I’m now sitting in my apartment sobbing because my lover is getting on the bus now to travel 5 hours so they can be at work by 7 am tomorrow. This is not the first time we’ve had to change plans due to work schedule being changed with less than 24 hours notice. This is not the USA and I don’t know what kind of worker protection laws there are or if they can be enforced. I’m so sad that they’re dealing with this. I’m…
