I’ve only been working with this company since November first. I ended up getting a stomach bug the day of my 8 hour shift. I had been throwing up since 5am with little to no sleep. We attained record profits in the last quarter, which resulted in each hourly employee being provided with a single doughnut, some room-temperature barbeque, and an insulated coffee cup. I work in tech support for a UK based broadband company. During the pandemic we were all working from home until the last 6 or so months where they’ve been increasing the number of days we’re expected to work in the office (at the moment it’s 3 in office and 2 at home per week). After a chat with my managers manager I was informed that the company will not budge on this but they will make allowances on a case by case basis. I’ve managed to get away with lying by saying I’ve broken my ankle and am currently housebound and have been for the last 2 months but obviously I can’t keep this up forever. Hi, Im looking for advise on how to solve this issue. Sorry in advance if my writing seems scrambled or bad grammar, I am way stressed and needed to rant. I have been working at this chain retail job for 3 years and genuinely love the work that I do and the people I work with. I am currently a lead in charge of receiving, the store is small enough that everybody does everything, I or management might cashier or cashiers might help with receiving.
