DO NOT call this a pay increase and talk to me like it’s a privilege. If I have $10 on Saturday and a pie cost $5 then there’s no difference to if I have $100 and a pie costs $50. All I’m saying is that EVERY job I’ve been to is required to make this increase and it’s not okay for your boss to tell you that its for any other reason.
