Pitting them against each other

I’m playing the game this week. I have a job that has a lot of unexpected benefits (flexibility, wfh, not too busy) but they have a lot of chaos and poor communication from on high leaving me and my coworkers in the dark. They are restructuring my whole position and making us figure out how to make it work so it seemed like a good time to check indeed. Found a job that pays better with the same title (the actual roles are very different but it’s still something I like doing, client-focused, field work, also pays for miles and has good benefits). Had a splendid interview. If I get the job I intend on asking my current job to match or beat the new place’s salary. It basically changes it from $21/hour to 23-25/hour, depending how well I negotiate. If they can’t, I leave. If they can, I stay.…
