Okay, this whole thing took place over a period of a month (June-July).
So, I got this job at a fast-food chain (franchised). I was excited because I ended up getting this job thru a long-time friend, of which we mended our relationship that went south due to a previous miscommunication.
Anyway, she was hired on as a General Manager in-training, and I got a spot on crew at a restaurant location 30mins+ away from my house because the location I applied to was dealing with construction. So, I end up working there for a month before I noticed the biggest red flag in my life: the nightshift boomer manager — a team lead — always slurred his speech and was overly-friendly, but would simultaneously lose his cool at the smallest thing. Then I found out: He was an alcoholic who drank on the job…and management wouldn't fire him despite constant complaints from employees & customers for his belligerent/inappropriate behavior.
So, when he threw a temper tantrum and closed the restaurant two hrs early, I clocked out and quit. I was done. That was a week ago.
And then today (as of writing this post), I found out she — my friend/GM-in-training — was mad at me because apparently they gave a her a strike on her management record because I quit. Yes, they hired me on HER recommendation, but it was the OTHER MANAGER who made me quit, NOT her.
So, why should she have to suffer the consequences? Because she's fresh-blood? Why not sack the asshole who drinks on the job and is CONSTANTLY a source of antagonism towards his employees AND the customers.
I'm so fucking mad right now. (Sorry for swears.)
