So I had worked with this company for 10 years as a Fleet Production Supervisor and honestly just got burnt out. Small raises, lack of advancement opportunities, very underappreciated and all kinds of menial bs that I was just tired of. When I told them I had received an offer letter from another company I had applied for they said, “Let us see what we can do”. They eventually came back with nothing and said I was the highest paid employee in my position in our group but, “there will be so many opportunities opening up in the near future”. I started a new job with better hours, benefits and pay this week. They had been trying to fill my position for the last few weeks once I gave them my notice. Just found out that they had nobody apply for my position and that they ended up moving another manager to my role and giving them $20k more that what I was being paid to do my old job. I'm sure everyone thinks they are/were excellent at their job but I know it just cost them more money, that they never offered me, to have someone with much less experience try and keep up with everything I did. It just boggles my mind.
