Quitting at a call center job

Maybe like 4 years ago I had a horrible call center job for a company called c3 in Tucson Arizona. I hated it so much. Got yelled at all day dealing with cox communication cable and internet billing questions. I wasn’t to professional myself. I would argue and probably yell at these customers. I knew I wasn’t going to last after getting called into my supervisors office to get reprimanded. So I was on a phone call when a coworker asked what I was still doing working there and I told him I’m waiting for my job to start. He pretty much told me to leave because I looked like I hated it there. So I just put my headset down after placing the customer on hold and left.
They called me back asking why I hadn’t show up and asked if I wanted my job back. Why would you even ask a person that left the job mid shift and not come back to come back? It was mind boggling to me.
